Started to think about removing the body, ready for fitting the engine which is due in December. I need to be able to lift the body and secure it safely above the chassis, to avoid taking up too much floor space. Decided to fit four pillars which will take four hand winches that will lift a frame holding the body.
Also fitted the casing around the fuse and relay box, started by threading the wires:
Temporary supports removed.
Casing on.
Closed the casing join and added sealer.
Bolted up, ready for top plate to hold the fuse holders.
Fitted the 'EDAC' connector that will connect to the dashboard.
Turned my attention to finding a place to fit the engine management computer and plug-in modules containing the display drivers, wiper delay timer and security electronics. Nice area in the top surface of the drivers footwell. Picture is looking up, the convoluted tube is the collapsible steering column.
Cut out a piece of tufnol, this will secured to the curved body using a profiled bracket.
Prepared a plate to hold the plug-in module sockets.
Cut out socket holes.
Will fit like so, except in the car the modules will hang down.
