Dash wiring

Having completed the dash, it will be wired using my own loom built up in-situ. First built a cradle to hold the dash face down on the bench, then started to connect wires and fit the switches.

Switches and start button fitted and wiring slotted into the channel.

Not much room around the light and heater fan switches, not possible to sleeve, but these will be covered when the dash is complete.

Starting the instrument wiring.

Is there a better way to spend the dark winter evenings.

Instrument voltage regulator and commoning rails.

I am using EDAC 516 series 38 way connectors to link the dash wiring to the rest of the car, gold plated, 8.5A rated, so should be reliable.

EDAC connector mounts on a small tufnol plate, connector pins are soldered, sleeved then clipped into position.

Almost there.

Wiring complete, (and bench tidied).

Switch cover fitted.
Made a frame to hold the dash - looks good. The two missing minor instruments are oil and water temperature, these use long capillaries so will not be fitted yet. Interestingly, several people have asked if a sat-nav is going to be fitted in the large square hole on the right.
